... "Resize the original pictures" option. This will retain the original filename. If you want to keep a copy of the big images, then copy them before resizing. I typically create a directory called "upload" and copy all of the pictures I want to use to this directory. Then I resize all of the pictures in that directory using the "Resize originals" option.
